Duo Receive Bans

ADRIAN LEWIS and Kevin Painter have been suspended following their disqualification from the Open Holland Masters in April.

The duo were disqualified for their conduct during their meeting at the quarter-final stage in the event, and referred to the Darts Regulation Authority.

Lewis has been handed a six-month ban, with four months suspended, and fined £400 after being found guilty of using offensive language, using threatening behaviour towards his opponent and recklessly disregarding the Tournament Director's instructions.

Painter, who was charged with the same offences, has been banned for three months, with two months suspended, and fined £200.

The duo have 28 days to lodge an appeal against the decisions, and having confirmed their intention to consider this route will be available to play in the Stan James World Matchplay.

Painter was also fined £100 for using offensive language during April's Antwerp Darts Trophy.

Raymond van Barneveld was fined £250 for behaviour likely to bring the sport of darts into disrepute at the Blue Square UK Open in June.
