TERRY JENKINS is bidding to continue his Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts revival when the event visits the Liverpool Echo Arena on Thursday.
Jenkins ended a six-game losing run when he defeated Adrian Lewis 8-5 when the Premier League tour visited Sheffield last week, moving himself off the bottom of the eight-player table.
With four games remaining, he sits five points adrift of a play-off place, but takes on Ronnie Baxter on Thursday in Liverpool in a game which will prove crucial to his top four hopes.
"I've been through these patches two or three times before and as long as you believe in yourself your form always comes back," said Jenkins.
"Form is only temporary really, and you can't play as well as I've done for the last couple of years and suddenly lose it.
"After losing so many games on the trot, though, it gets harder. Every time you lose you wonder what's happening and it gets harder to win that next match.
"If you've got three wins on the trot it makes it a lot easier, but it's a relief to have won last week."
Jenkins and Baxter drew when they last met, on the opening night of this year's Premier League at The O2 in London in February.
"Ronnie's had a good season and deserves to be in the top four at the moment but this is my chance," said Jenkins. "I'm confident I can beat him and it will be an exciting game."
