CHRIS MASON and Kevin McDine have won places in the 2007 PartyBets.com Grand Slam of Darts through the ITV Wildcard Qualifier.
McDine has enjoyed a superb first full year on the PDC circuit, and will now compete in the £300,000 Grand Slam tournament in November live on ITV.
The Newcastle-born youngster came from 2-0 to win 5-2 against Jason Clark in the final of his section of the draw at Wolverhampton's Aldersley Leisure Village.
He pulled level and then moved 4-2 up before taking out 160 for the match to earn himself a minimum £4,000 prize money.
The second decider saw Mason defeat Denis Ovens 5-2 to book his place at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall in November.
Mason had to overcome Mark Dudbridge in round two and also edged out Dennis Smith 5-4 in his penultimate game.
He won the opening leg of the final against the throw with a 118 finish, and then doubled his lead before Ovens landed double top to hit back,
A further ton-plus finish of 110 saw him move 4-1 up and he then punished misses from Ovens in the next to put himself into the Grand Slam.
Over 200 players travelled to Wolverhampton for the event, with seasoned professionals from the PDC circuit joined by hopeful amateurs and pub league players from around the county.
Andrew Findley and Mark Frost reached the last 16, while Bob Anderson, Kevin Painter and Colin Osborne joined Smith as last eight losers.
The field for the PartyBets.com Grand Slam of Darts now stands at 30 players, with two spots remaining for players who reach the final of the SkyBet World Grand Prix from 8-14 October.
