Over 200 Fight For Grand Slam Spots

230 DARTS players will travel to the Aldersley Leisure Village on Sunday to compete in the ITV Wildcard Qualifier for the PartyBets.com Grand Slam of Darts.

The last two men standing at the end of the knockout event will win a place in November's inaugural Grand Slam of Darts at the Wolverhampton Civic.

The field includes many high-profile names from the PDC circuit who have not won their places in the tournament, alongside pub and county players looking to achieve their dream of sharing a stage with the biggest names in darts.

Ronnie Baxter, Kevin Painter, Mark Dudbridge, Colin Osborne and Chris Mason are among the leading names to enter the event.

Alex Roy and Adrian Gray follow up their qualification for the SkyBet World Grand Prix last weekend by trying their luck in Wolverhampton, alongside in-form Denis Ovens.

Legends of the game Cliff Lazarenko, Bob Anderson, Peter Evison and Jamie Harvey will also be hoping to book their places in the ITV-televised tournament.

The random draw for the event has thrown up some interesting potential ties, including Dudbridge and Mason being drawn on board eight.

Steve Hine and Dennis Smith meet in round one in another early clash between experienced players on the big stage.

The format is the best of nine legs throughout, with one player from boards 1-16 and one from 17-32 winning a place in the PartyBets.com Grand Slam of Darts at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall from 17-25 November.
Play begins at midday at the Aldersley Leisure Village.
