Play-Off Race Steps Up In Glasgow

The night's opening game sees two top-four players competing, with second placed Dennis Priestley facing Terry Jenkins - who moved above Raymond van Barneveld and into third place with an 8-1 rout of Adrian Lewis last week.

The contest will pit the power scoring of Jenkins, who has a 96.46 average so far in the Premier League and is the second highest scorer behind van Barneveld, against the precision finishing of Priestley.

The Yorkshireman has landed ten ton-plus finishes so far in this year's competition, including checkouts of 124 and 120 in defeating van Barneveld 8-4 last week.

The Dutchman gets his chance to bounce back when he takes on Adrian Lewis, who has now lost his last four games.

Van Barneveld was an 8-5 winner when the pair met previously on the opening night of this year's event, but Lewis said: "I'll be giving it my all.

"I enjoy playing in Scotland - I've won three Pro Tour events near Glasgow so hopefully the crowd will be behind me and I can get the win."

Colin Lloyd is another player needing a win to boost his chances of a top-four finish in May, having lost his last three matches.

He takes on Peter Manley, who currently has the lowest three-dart average in the tournament but edged out Lloyd in Plymouth with some of his typical, "One Dart" finishing - checking out 90 in the final two legs to win 8-6.

The final game of the evening sees Roland Scholten take on unbeaten league leader Phil Taylor in a repeat of the 2006 Premier League final.

The pair tied seven-all on the opening night, with a 71 checkout in the final leg seeing Taylor preserve his incredible Premier League record of never being defeated in the competition.
