THE 2008 Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts kicks off next Thursday at the SECC in Glasgow, and with over 60,000 seats already sold across the UK is British sport's hottest ticket.
The tournament will also create a new PDC attendance record at the Liverpool Echo Arena, with almost 6,000 tickets already sold.
That comfortably exceeds the previous record for darts' modern era, set at 5,300 when the Premier League Darts visited the Sheffield Arena last March.
The Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts is now in its fourth year, with record prize money of £340,000, with £100,000 to the champion - the joint highest prize available in professional darts.
"The Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts is the hottest ticket in British sport at present," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.
"Fans have the chance to see players like Phil Taylor, Raymond van Barneveld, John Part, James Wade and Wayne Mardle battling in magnificent arenas in one of the most exciting tournaments in darts, and the reaction of supporters across the UK and especially in Liverpool has reflected that."
Extra seats have been installed at the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester and the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, while the sell-out signs have already been posted in Glasgow and at the Plymouth Pavilions for the tournament's opening two weeks.
