Scholten's Warning For Harvey

ROLAND SCHOLTEN has backed unknown German player Tomas Seyler to make a big impression when he takes on Jamie Harvey in the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.

Seyler, the current German number one, will make his debut in a major PDC tournament at the Circus Tavern on Thursday.

He faces veteran Scottish star Jamie Harvey, and Scholten admitted that the 31-year-old could cause an upset.

"I know him quite well and I've seen him play on quite a few occasions," said Scholten.

"He has plenty of experience and I think Jamie's got a game on his hands.

"Tomas is capable of beating Jamie, but Jamie could well perform as he has done down the years.

"It will be a good game and I look forward to taking on the winner."

Scholten booked his place in round two with a 3-1 win over Dave Whitcombe on Tuesday, but feels he has plenty of room for improvement.

"I didn't play the way I can play, but I was happy with the win," he said.

"I know I cam capable of hitting loads more 180's and I'm never happy - I'm trying to be perfect!"
