A NUMBER of changes have been made to the PDC calendar for 2015, including a new date and venue for The Unibet Masters as well as the addition of a fifth ITV-televised tournament.
Following the success of the first two stagings of The Unibet Masters - featuring the world's top 16 players and won recently in Edinburgh by James Wade - the tournament will change position in the calendar.
The 2015 Unibet Masters will be held on January 31 & February 1 live on ITV4 from the ArenaMK, which is a new, multi-purpose arena adjoining the Milton Keynes Dons' football stadium.
Tickets will go on Priority Sale on Thursday November 27 to LIVEPDC.TV Annual Subscribers, and on General Sale on Monday December 1.
Due to the movement of The Unibet Masters, the opening European Tour event of 2015 will now be held from February 13-15 at Halle 39 in Hildesheim, Germany.
The 2015 partypoker.com World Grand Prix will also move forward one day in the calendar, and will now be played from Sunday October 4-Saturday October 10.
This will mean that the two Players Championship events which precede the World Grand Prix will take place on October 2 & 3 at the Citywest Hotel.
The year's seventh European Tour event will now be held at the RWE Sporthalle in Muelheim from September 11-13.
A new venue for the European Championship, from October 23-25, will be announced in due course.
Finally, the PDC are delighted to confirm the arrival of a further ITV4-televised event, which will be a World Series of Darts Finals to be held on November 21-22.
Further details of the venue and format for the World Series of Darts Finals will be confirmed once finalised, along with details of the individual World Series of Darts events.
"2015 was already shaping up to be our biggest ever year at the Professional Darts Corporation, but the introduction of the World Series of Darts Finals is another boost for the sport's best players," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.
"The ever-increasing and thrilling standard of darts our players produce is being reflected in record ticket sales and record television ratings, and the demand for PDC tournaments continues to rise.
"In addition, we are delighted to be moving to the new ArenaMK in Milton Keynes for the first time, whilst the slight change to the World Grand Prix's scheduling is designed to create an even more exciting finale."
