Josh Rock, Daryl Gurney and Gerwyn Price have become the latest players to confirm their qualification for the 2025 Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts.
Rock and Gurney led Northern Ireland to a famous victory at the World Cup of Darts in Frankfurt, overcoming the formidable Welsh partnership of Price and Jonny Clayton to take the title.
The Northern Irish duo fended off a late fightback from Wales to become the sixth nation to celebrate World Cup glory, sealing the victory with a sensational 11-dart leg in the decider.
As a result, Rock and Gurney will both feature in this year’s Grand Slam of Darts, which will take place from November 8-16 at the WV Active in Aldersley, Wolverhampton.
Rock will make his fourth consecutive Grand Slam appearance later this year, having memorably landed a nine-darter on debut against Michael van Gerwen in 2022, before reaching the quarter-finals in 2023.
Gurney, meanwhile, will return to the Grand Slam stage following a six-year hiatus, having also progressed to the quarter-finals on his debut back in 2017.
Despite missing out on a third World Cup crown at the Eissporthalle, three-time champion Price will star in Wolverhampton in 2025, as he sets his sights on reclaiming the coveted Eric Bristow Trophy.
The 40-year-old has lifted a hat-trick of Grand Slam titles in Aldersley, following up back-to-back wins in 2018 and 2019 with a third triumph in 2021.
Price’s World Cup partner Clayton had already confirmed his Grand Slam qualification prior to last weekend, by virtue of his run to the Winmau World Masters final in February.
The finalists from PDC televised events over a 12-month period and additional qualifiers will make up to 24 places at this year’s Grand Slam, with 11 players now assured of their spot in the event.
Reigning champion Luke Littler will headline the 32-player field, which also includes three-time winner Michael van Gerwen and world number one Luke Humphries – the Grand Slam champion in 2023.
2024 Grand Slam finalist Martin Lukeman, James Wade and Clayton qualify as runners-up in TV events, while World Youth Champion Gian van Veen and runner-up Jurjen van der Velde have also confirmed their qualification.
They will be joined by winners of the Women's World Matchplay, North American Championship, PDC Asian Championship and the 2025 Challenge Tour, Development Tour and Women’s Series Order of Merit winners.
The World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, European Championship and World Series of Darts Finals provide further opportunities for players to seal their qualification through Premier televised events.
If the 24 places are not filled from Premier event winners, runners-up and additional qualifiers, winners from the 2025 PDC European Tour and Players Championship events could also secure Grand Slam spots.
A further eight players will also come through the PDC Tour Card Holder Qualifier on October 31, after which the 32-player field will be finalised.
The 2025 Grand Slam of Darts will be the last in the 32-player format before the tournament expands to feature 48 stars from next year.
