PDC Fantasy Darts has returned as the official fantasy game of the 2025 Betfred World Matchplay, which gets underway in Blackpool this weekend.
Popular amongst fans at the World Championship and Premier League, PDC Fantasy Darts is now live ahead of the sport’s summer showpiece, which will take place at the iconic Winter Gardens from July 19-27.
This year's game will see fans pick a starting squad of six players, as the biggest names in world darts battle it out for the prestigious Phil Taylor Trophy at the Empress Ballroom.
Each player’s squad will be comprised of the following:
2x Favourites
1x Contenders
1x Ones to Watch
1x Dark Horses
1x Long Shots
You will have three transfers available throughout the tournament - two following the first round, and one final transfer ahead of the quarter-finals.
If all players are eliminated from a category, the overall squad size is reduced – you are not able to select a player from a different category to make up a full squad of six.
You must also choose a captain and vice-captain to boost your score, with your captain earning 2x points, and your vice-captain receiving 1.5x points, so it’s important to be shrewd with your selections!
The overall PDC Fantasy Darts champion will receive a signed Luke Littler shirt, while further prizes also include a signed Nathan Aspinall shirt and a set of Michael van Gerwen’s EvoX darts.
In addition to the existing general leagues, you can also create your own private leagues, enabling you to compete against friends and prove who is the king of Fantasy Darts!

Transfers can only be made from one player to another in that category. Eg: You can only replace a long shot with another long shot, or a favourite with another favourite.
If all players from that category have been eliminated from the tournament, then the squad size will be reduced for the final stages of the tournament.
The transfer windows will be open after the completion of the first round on Monday July 21, and following the conclusion of the second round on Wednesday July 23.
You will have three transfers available throughout the whole competition, and these transfer windows will also give you the opportunity to change your captain and vice captain.
