Fallon Sherrock became the latest darts star to support Bullseye Maths, in association with Vanquis, when she visited Summerfield School in Milton Keynes for two special sessions of the numeracy scheme.
Bullseye Maths encourages people of all ages to engage with numeracy, promoting how darts and maths interact in a fun and inclusive way.
Both Year 5 classes from Summerfield School enjoyed Bullseye Maths sessions - the first time the scheme has done outdoor sessions, making the most of the summer weather with a combination of practical darts games and worksheet-based activities.
"The kids really got into it and it really helped with them with their maths - even just adding all their scores up," said Sherrock, whose son attends Summerfield School and took part in one of the sessions.
"When I was first playing I found it quite difficult because I didn't understand a lot but the more that I played it helped my maths."
Summerfield School Year 5 teacher Laura Reynolds said: "We all had a fantastic day. The children loved the Bullseye Maths experiences and getting to meet Fallon."
Gary Horsley, the Junior Darts Corporation's Director of Community & Education Projects, said: "It was fantastic to have Fallon Sherrock join us and she helped all the children enjoy two great sessions.
"An outdoor setting for Bullseye Maths was unique but with such great weather this helped to make the sessions enjoyable for both classes. We were delighted to see how engaged the students were and how much they got involved!"
Bullseye Maths was introduced in 2022 to link darts and numeracy in a fun and interactive way, featuring an online portal at the PDC website - which includes the interactive Mathlete game and downloadable worksheets - alongside in-school sessions.
Bullseye Maths is supported by Vanquis, the UK's largest specialist bank for financially underserved customers, and works with the JDC, the Room 180 Academy and GoDartsPro.
