Stowe Buntz and David Cameron confirmed their Paddy Power World Darts Championship qualification as the CDC Tour season reached its climax over the weekend.
The 2025 Championship Darts Circuit tour concluded with Events 14-16 in Brownsburg, Indiana, as Buntz and Cameron joined Adam Sevada in sealing their spots at Alexandra Palace.
Cameron will compete at the World Darts Championship for a third time in December, after finishing the season as the top-ranked Canadian representative on the CDC rankings.
The 56-year-old sealed his qualification with Event 15 glory on Saturday, after producing a stirring fightback to topple Buntz in a deciding-leg thriller.
Buntz produced magnificent 127, 152 and 155 checkouts to establish a 5-2 buffer, only for Cameron to win five of the remaining six legs to claim his second CDC title of the campaign.
Despite that defeat, Buntz will also make his third appearance in the capital as the top-ranked non-qualified player on the CDC rankings, following his haul of four titles across the year.
Earlier in the weekend, Cameron was beaten in the Event 14 showpiece by his compatriot Jim Long, who ran out a convincing 7-3 winner to celebrate the sixth CDC ProTour crown of his career.
Long defeated former UK Open runner-up Gary Mawson by the same scoreline in the semi-finals, following earlier wins over Joey Lynaugh and Nick Linberg.
Leonard Gates joined Long and Cameron in the winner’s circle this weekend, rounding off the CDC ProTour season with Event 16 success on Sunday.
Gates will also feature at the World Darts Championship courtesy of his CDC Cross-Border Challenge triumph in April, and he defeated Sevada 7-3 in Sunday’s decider to sign off in style.
The American conceded just three legs in storming through to the quarter-finals, before dumping out Danny Young and Jason Brandon on his way to victory.
Despite missing out on a sixth title of the year, Sevada will make his Alexandra Palace bow after topping the CDC rankings at the expense of his fellow countryman Buntz.
Following the conclusion of the CDC Main Tour season, the CDC Continental Cup will take place on Saturday October 18, as 16 of North America’s top stars go head-to-head in Philadelphia.
The winner of next month’s event will also qualify for the 2025/26 World Darts Championship, as Gates bids to retain his Continental Cup title on home soil.
However, if one of Sevada, Buntz, Cameron or Gates take the title in Philadelphia, the qualification place will be awarded to Alex Spellman as the top-ranked non-qualified player on the CDC rankings.
