PDC Werner Rankings Ladder update following Hungarian Darts Trophy

Josh Rock (PDC Europe)

Josh Rock has moved into the top ten on the PDC Werner Rankings Ladder after progressing to last weekend’s Hungarian Darts Trophy semi-finals.

Rock reached the last four on a thrilling weekend in Budapest, recording wins over Ricardo Pietreczko, Thibault Tricole and James Wade to maintain his superb form on the European Tour stage.

The 24-year-old made back-to-back finals in Antwerp and Prague prior to this weekend’s showpiece, and his semi-final showing in the Hungarian capital saw him break into the world’s top ten for the first time.

Danny Noppert has also climbed two places to 13th after advancing to his first European Tour final since May 2022.

The Dutch number two dumped out reigning champion Michael van Gerwen and World Champion Luke Littler along the way, while also defying a 104 average from Chris Dobey in the quarter-finals.

Noppert was beaten by Niko Springer in Sunday’s showpiece, as the rising star broke new ground with a dramatic deciding-leg victory in Budapest.

Springer beat six of the world’s top 20 on his way to glory at the MVM Dome, having claimed the scalps of Gian van Veen, Damon Heta, Rob Cross, Luke Humphries and Josh Rock earlier in the event.

The German has subsequently risen four places to world number 66 after celebrating his maiden PDC ranking title, while he has also all-but confirmed his place in next month’s World Grand Prix.
