Australian Double For Mathers

Gordon Mathers (PDC)

GORDON MATHERS enjoyed a double victory on the DPA Australian Grand Prix circuit by winning both ranking events held in Perth, as Koha Kokiri won the latest World Series of Darts Qualifier.

Queenslander Mathers followed up his good weekend in Warilla last month, where he reached a semi-final and a final, by taking both titles at the Osborne Park Bowling Club on April 8-9.

Mathers enjoyed wins over Lucas Cameron, Rhys Mathewson and Kokiri on his way to Saturday's final, where he overcame PDC Unicorn World Youth Champion Corey Cadby 6-1.

Mathers then defeated Graham Hunt, Mathewson and Damon Heta on his way to Sunday's final, where he was a 6-3 winner against Kokiri.

Perth-based New Zealander Kokiri enjoyed a strong weekend in his local event, which began with his victory in the year's fifth World Series of Darts Qualifier, as he overcame Clinton Bridge in the final.

The next DPA Australian Grand Prix weekend will take place from April 28-30 at the Grenada Tavern in Hobart as the series crosses to Tasmania. For full details, please visit www.dartplayersaustralia.com.
