Darts Pictures Up For Award

PDC official photographer Lawrence Lustig has had a portfolio of his darts pictures nominated for a top award.

Lustig attends all televised PDC tournaments in his role as official photographer, and has captured some of the sport's great moments as well as iconic images in recent years.

In 2005, a picture of Phil Taylor from the Stan James World Matchplay was featured as one of the top 50 photographs of the year by UK Sport.

A portfolio of ten pictures from 2008 has now been shortlisted among the top five for the prestigious Sports Photographer of the Year award.

"I'm very proud that a feature of darts pictures has been nominated for this prestigious award," said Lustig.

"The great characters, wonderful stages and arenas and colourful fans provide a great backdrop for my work and it's a big honour.

"My work in football and boxing has been recognised in the past, but this is more satisfying to be nominated for my work in darts - which has never received this recognition before."
