Ben Robb and Dean Reyland have confirmed their spots in next month’s SkyCity New Zealand Darts Masters, after winning through qualification in Auckland over the weekend.
The PDC’s annual trip Down Under will begin with the KenoGO Australian Darts Masters in Wollongong, before the Spark Arena plays host to the New Zealand Darts Masters on August 15-16.
Each World Series of Darts event will see a 16-player field competing over two days of action, as eight PDC superstars go head-to-head with eight Oceanic representatives.
Robb will make his fifth New Zealand Darts Masters appearance after winning through Saturday’s opening qualifier, dispatching Jaymie Hilton-Jones 7-1 to confirm his World Series return.
The 36-year-old – also a five-time World Championship qualifier – will be joined at the Spark Arena by newcomer Reyland, who defeated Alan Skayman 7-6 to seal his big stage debut.
The Oceanic representatives for the New Zealand Darts Masters also include New Zealand’s number one Haupai Puha and Australian veteran Simon Whitlock – a World Cup of Darts champion in 2022.
Jonny Tata, Mark Cleaver and John Hurring confirmed their qualification via the DPNZ Order of Merit, while Tata will also compete in the Australian Darts Masters a week prior.
The 32-year-old denied Robb a qualification double with a 7-3 success in the DPNZ Australian Darts Masters qualifier, reeling off three consecutive legs to complete an impressive victory.
The remaining five DPA representatives for the Australian Darts Masters will be finalised on July 13, while the final Oceanic player competing in New Zealand will be confirmed on July 11.
World number one Luke Humphries and World Champion Luke Littler headline the list of eight PDC superstars, which also includes Premier League trio Stephen Bunting, Chris Dobey and Gerwyn Price.
Australian number one Damon Heta will also take centre stage on home soil, with the remaining two PDC representatives set to be announced in due course.
