Littler and Van Veen secure Development Tour 3&4 titles

Luke Littler (PDC)

Luke Littler and Gian Van Veen picked up their first PDC Winmau Development Tour titles of 2023 as Events Three and Four came to a close on Saturday.

The pair followed wins for Christopher Toonders and Dylan Slevin on Friday's opening day at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes.

Reigning JDC World Champion Littler, who turned 16 in January, has made a superb start to life on the PDC circuit, and he picked up his first Development Tour success with a 5-1 victory over Dutch youngster Jurjen Van der Velde in the final.

Later in the day, 20-year-old Van Veen - who won his PDC Tour Card in January - did what his countryman couldn't and went all the way in Event Four - seeing off England's Adam Paxton 5-2 in the final.

It was another day of high-quality action on the Development Tour, with each of the four events so far seeing a ten-dart leg thrown.

The action from the first Development Tour weekend of 2023 concludes with Event Five on Sunday.

The top two players from the 2023 Development Tour Order of Merit at the end of the season will win a PDC Tour Card for 2024-25 and a place in the 2023/24 World Darts Championship.

The event draws and results are listed in the Match Centre.
