Huge Day Ahead For Young Stars

Winmau Development Tour

MONDAY sees the 2017 PDC Unicorn World Youth Chamionship Last 64 take place in Wigan.

The Winmau World Youth Championship offers young players the chance to compete in the world's most lucrative and prestigious youth darts event.

The tournament is open to players aged 16-24 and offers £60,000 in prize money.

The final will be played live on a televised stage at in Minehead between the semi-finals and final of the Players Championship Finals.

Format:
The Group Stage will be 32 groups of four players. Group matches will be the best of nine legs, and the top two from each group will progress to the Knockout Stage, which will be played from the Last 64 onwards.

Two points are awarded for a win and no points will be awarded for a loss. Each group game is the best of nine legs, with the winner being the first player to win five legs.

After the Group Stage has been completed, the top two players in each group will progress to the knockout phase.

Should there be a two-way Points tie in any position, then the player with the best Leg Difference will be deemed to have finished higher. If both players have the same Leg Difference, then the winner of the group match between those two players will be deemed to be the higher finisher.

Should there be a three-way points tie in any group after the round-robin games have been played, these would be split as follows:
Total Leg Difference
Total Legs Won
Total Legs Won Against Throw
Highest Total Overall Average
Highest Winning Match Average

If players cannot be split after the above criteria has been applied, a play-off will be organised between the respective players.

The Last 64 onwards will be played in a knockout format over the best of 11 legs, with the draw bracket made based on the standard seed positions in the 32 groups. Play will be down to the final, which will be held on Sunday November 23 in Minehead, between the semi-finals and final of the Ladbrokes Players Championship Finals.

There will be 32 players seeded for the Group Stage. Any players from the Werner Ranking Ladder will be the highest seeds (in Werner Ranking Ladder order), with further seedings allocated based on the final 2025 Development Tour Order of Merit.
